Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.

Augusta is in Georgia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Augusta follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Dr. John G. has truly been a blessing to me. As a Deaf patient, feeling understood and respected means everything. His office always provides an interpreter so I can fully understand my treatment, and he takes the time to explain every detail with patience and care. What touches me most is that he has the energy and willingness to learn sign language himself. That effort speaks volumes about his heart. After having bad experiences in the past, I was nervous and unsure. Now I feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. I trust Dr. John G. completely, and I am so grateful for him and his amazing team.

I have been a patient for 3 years in the Dental Associates clinic. (Faculty practice) my care is SUPERB!!! Everyone is so helpful and kind. Cathy is so great at what she does and takes the time to explain my treatment charges. Thank you for taking care of my smile!

I have been going to this practice for 15 years. I could not get an appt for 3 months and when I requested that they send my records (which I have paid for and belong to me) to a new dental practice, they insisted i come in person to sign a release. I explained that I lived over 3 hours away and asked if there was another way they stated that in person was the only way to sign a waiver. I found their manner to be extremely rude and unhelpful. They need to have an alternative method for transferring records.

Super positive experience even from calling to make an appointment. Ms. Cathy who works in the office staff loaded my insurance into my profile as a new patient, got me in quickly, and even estimated costs for my appointment. She even walked in to see me to say hello! Dr. Latour did a very comprehensive exam and was willing to chat with me about my findings. She was very reassuring and made this a very anxious experience calming and comprehensible. Very good staff and quality of patient care!

The staff is very nice and I was happy with my first visit and I am hoping that my surgery goes well. Though its a little concerning that I might not be able to contact them if I have questions or concerns post operation because No one will answer the phone. I was on hold for well over an hour (not exaggerating). When I finally made contact I begged the lady not to transfer me and put me on hold again but she explained that they were short handed and she would try to notify the Oral surgery department to pick up the phone. They must be short handed every day because it does not matter what day or time you call you will not get through and do not fall for that "call back" service they offer its a trap. No one will call you back. I understand it is a large university with a large flow of patients and I understand having to wait I'm not that unreasonable but if it weren't for the glowing recommendation from my father about how awesome the staff is and how well they did on his teeth I would have gone somewhere else. The staff is very nice and the facility is nice. I plan to go in 2 hours early in hopes of getting to talk to someone in person rather than try to call again. I will edit t
